Shivpuri has many different housing complexes where guests come and stay. The houses are designed on the Vedic architectural concepts and are eco-friendly. They use energy efficient lighting and appliances. One can choose from a Non A/C room, an A/C room or a spacious bungalow. The houses are beautifully made and are simple yet comfortable. Landscaped gardens add to the charm of the housing complex.Currently, some of the buildings use solar power for water heating purposes. The buildings and street lighting use energy efficient bulbs and appliances. The water heating for the majority housing is done using heat generated from farm waste like dry twigs and crop residue or solar heaters. Building of a solar and wind energy station to support the entire Shivpuri area is in the planning.
